FL Studio stem export is usually done from the Playlist with Split mixer tracks or by routing channels to the mixer and exporting selected tracks.
Before export
- Finish arrangement in Playlist
- Name mixer tracks clearly (Kick, Bass, Vocal, etc.)
- Note project BPM and key
- Avoid clipping on master
Method 1: Split mixer tracks (common)
- File → Export → Wave file (or WAV)
- In export dialog, enable Split mixer tracks
- Mode: Full song from start to end
- Format: WAV, 24-bit, project sample rate
- Disable unnecessary MP3
- Export — FL creates one file per mixer track
Review outputs — mute unused mixer inserts so you do not export empty noise tracks.
Method 2: Solo and export groups
- Route channels to mixer tracks (Drums bus, etc.)
- Solo bus
- Export wave file — full length
- Repeat per stem group
Fewer files; good for simpler songs.
Method 3: Stem mixer tracks only
Use Selected tracks or mixer track filter options in your FL version to export only routed buses.
Playlist vs patterns
Ensure all patterns are placed in the Playlist for full length — exporting only one pattern shortens files.
Effects: dry vs wet
- Dry stems: disable reverb sends or use Patcher export without master FX
- Wet: export with effects if sound depends on them — note in upload
Stereo mix for mastering
File → Export → Wave file from master with headroom.
→ How to bounce a track properly
Common FL mistakes
- Split tracks with different timeline lengths
- Forgotten muted tracks still exported
- MP3 for professional handoff
